i'm so glad you didn't do the arcadia one! after you didn't reply to my last comment, i was sitting there worried, all like, "was i too late to save her?" this press kit thing you've got going seems to be working really well! you should do the devils one sometime, so you can even pay more attention to stephen duffy than you do roger taylor. XD

the john taylor wardrobe updates were incredible. much like how the traits that would make andy become incompatible with duran are already present at some level, you can see the genesis of both the questionably-dressed 90s la dad and the entire big thing aesthetic.

as you might have been able to tell from my recommendations, i never did pay much attention to power station or andy and john's solo efforts... but you're right, tony thompson was surprisingly hot. i would feel free to put him ahead of drugged-out john for hottest person in this featurette. sorry, john, you seem barely able to keep your eyes open in the interview segments.

and as for john the ideas man... i don't know, i wouldn't have assigned john that function either. (honestly, i would've said andy. he's so into it!) but i can kind of see it, a little.

I still fully intend to watch that Arcadia interview all the way through! I was going to answer your last comment after I'd done that, and... well, it's now a week later. I like the interviewer a lot, and I'm all about Arcadia, so I'm pretty sure it'll be worth it.

Doing the Devils press kit is a fantastic idea. Feels like Stephen Duffy should be represented here somehow.

Yeah, I'm with you -- I never had much use for Power Station, or John's solo effort (though I maintain that Andy's "When The Rain Comes Down" is a surprisingly catchy little tune, and certainly better than whatever it was that John did for 9 1/2 weeks). But, yeah -- Tony Thompson. Smoking hot.

Stephen Duffy is hilarious. Nick Rhodes is hilarious. I can't wait to see you give the Devil's "the treatment"

Kate -- I love the Devils, so I think this might really work well. I'm indebted to Anonymous for suggesting it.

Awww, an Andy post brings out Details Later! :)

Do I sense your great mirth with Andy being so… present? (for lack of a better term) Spending, shredding his guitar, rat's nest-hair, tight-pants wearing, spotlight stealing, gushing over tall girls… whew, and this is just from halfway through your post! You're having just as much as Andy!

I agree, Tony Thompson back in the day was a HOT MAN.

I second the comment on the Devils! (Big Stephen Duffy/Lilac time fan). Loved this little featurette. It's a bit scary how much smoking there was going on...we're just not used to seeing that anymore. And according to John Taylor's bio I think there was a lot of other substance going on as well. Keep up the great work!

Details Later -- I thought an Andy-heavy post might bring you out of hiding. :-) He's just delightful to watch in this; so great seeing him filled with zest for life.

Mintycake -- The Devils will be coming up tomorrow (or Friday, if I fall behind schedule)! Yeah, the amount of smoking in that featurette *is* kind of startling by today's standards.

Speaking of John and scary things going on, I actually came across this on YouTube. It's a clip from a movie called Vegas City of Drams and John was in it. I may have to do a detox to get over what I have seen. You should totally Duranalyze this one! (Warning: cannot be unseen).

WOW. Mintycake, I'm just over one minute into that clip, and I already refuse to believe this is real. Holy hell, that's amazingly terrible.

...wait, you've never seen vegas: city of dreams??? i'm in shock

We need a movie review of it! The sex scene is just disturbing.

I'd never heard of Vegas City of Dreams until mintycake brought it to my attention! I have no idea how it passed me by, but now I need to see the whole thing. This is important, clearly.

Clearly. We are counting on tour critical eye and eagerly await the result.
